Pantone colours of 2019!
The majestic powers at Pantone have waved their colourful wand and just like that, Living Coral is the colour of 2019. Not sure if you feel the same, but we are completely here for this colour and the ensuing schemes to follow on red carpets, premier’s, runways and most definitely weddings.
Ironically enough the Chinese Zodiac calendar, which tells us 2019 is also the year of the Earth Pig, suggests lucky colours and trends will be; reds, oranges and pinks – a literal combination of what Living Coral is structured by.
If you’re starting to feel overwhelmed by all of these regal, warm and spicy colour combinations for the upcoming year we’ve got you covered because the element metal is also on the docket for our next trip around the sun.
So, what does this mean for your wedding?
As if getting married to the love of your life wasn’t lucky enough – in Chinese culture the colour red is synonymous with luck and marriage while white represents the element of metals. Pairing these two harmonizes the energies for the year of your wedding. You’re already off to a great start.
In terms of planning your wedding – yes, you are about to see a ton of Living Coral bridesmaid dresses, ties, linen selections and the like. Pair accordingly! It’s entirely possible to include ‘the colour of the year’ without overdoing it but we’re thinking these rich, plush colours are going to look absolutely incredible on any brides’ wedding wish list. Pair that living colour scheme with metallic accents and décor and now we’re really talking!
Notable trends also include a shift towards more plush, extravagant wedding décor and fabrics like velvet. Metallic eyeshadow, nail colours and strong, bold yet luxurious lip colours will definitely be making an appearance. After all, Living Coral does sound like the ultimate cool girl lip colour, doesn’t it?
